The aim of this thesis is the modeling and visualization of natural-looking scenes containing trees. The steps involved are modeling natural terrain, modeling the branch characteristics of natural trees, mapping of texture (bark) onto trees, and, finally, the display of the entire forest on a computer graphics screen. Application areas for such algorithms include flight simulators (Air Force), computer animation (film industry), engineering (air conditioning structures), and medicine (modeling human organs).
