Examples are plants growing, clouds floating, and ants colonizing. A moving object is any object with a spatial component that changes shape or position over time. Interesting information can be extracted from these moving objects. Research in modeling and analysis of moving objects has received much attention in the field of spatiotemporal databases. We are interested in being able to track objects' interactions with each other through space and time. At this point, there is a lack of development in computational models of moving regions; however, the Component Based Moving Region Model(CMR) hopes to address this need. We plan to extend the CMR Model with a semantic specification of the union algorithm and implementation mechanisms for computing set operations and moving object interactions over pairs of moving regions. Set operation and topological predicates are important because they are fundamental operations used in spatial analysis and are not yet defined in the CMR Model. Currently, no systems exist that provide the functionality developed in this thesis. Our contribution provides mechanisms to which moving object systems can be implemented. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Moving, CMR, Object, Model, Operations, Component | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
