The LJ1-01 satellite is the first dedicated nighttime light remote sensing satellite in the world and was successfully launched on 2 June 2018.Its development was led by a scientific research team from Wuhan University and manufactured by the Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co.LTD.The spatial resolution of LJ1-01 satellite is 130 meters which can draw the global luminous images in 15 days under ideal conditions.The LJ1-01 satellite provides special products such as GDP index,carbon emission index and urban housing vacancy rate index in China and the whole world,and dynamically monitors China's and global macro-economic operation,so as to provide objective basis for government decision-making.At present,there are two kinds of relatively mature and stable nighttime light images abroad,including DMSP/OLS stable nighttime light data and NPP/VIIRS monthly composite data in the United States,while the spatial resolution of LJ1-01 nighttime light images is higher than them.In view of the lack of research and analysis of LJ1-01 nighttime light images in the world,this paper based on the latest LJ1-01 nighttime light images carried out a series of preliminary application research.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1.This paper first introduces the development and image situation of LJ1-01 satellite and NPP/VIIRS satellite,and introduces the research area status,nighttime light images,GHS built-up area products,global land cover data,socio-economic parameters and other data sources,and details the preliminary preprocessing steps of nighttime light image data.2.In this paper,LJ1-01 and NPP/VIIRS,two kinds of nighttime light images and 10 kinds of socio-economic statistical data in the eastern and central regions of China were taken as the research areas,and linear regression was conducted in a total of 167 statistical units in 87 and 80 respectively in the eastern and central regions of China.10 kinds of socio-economic statistical data includes gross regional product of total city,gross regional product of urban districts within city,annual average population of total city,annual average population of urban districts within city,annual electricity consumption,electricity consumption for industries,household electricity consumption in urban and rural residential areas,area of land use for urban construction,area of land use for living,area of city paved road respectively.Comparing the results of modeling the socio-economic parameters with two kinds of nighttime light images,the potential of LJ1-01 nighttime light data to detect the information of night commercial activities,important transportation and industrial production is analyzed and evaluated.3.The LJ1-01 satellite remote sensing image is closely related to the GDP and can reflect the economic development level of the city well.This paper puts forward the concept of "LJ1-01 index" for China's regional economic development.The LJ1-01 index mainly includes LJ1-01 development index(DI)and LJ1-01 future development index(FDI).The economic evaluation index was calculated by integrating the national map of LJ1-01 nighttime light data,the grid product of GHS built-up area and the information extracted from the global 30 m surface coverage remote sensing data product.It includes direct assessment of the current economic development level of the region,prediction of the economic development potential of the region in the future period,and comprehensive evaluation of the natural environment,living comfort and livable degree of the region.According to the LJ1-01 index model,the discussion was carried out in three parts: the ranking of national provincial capitals,the ranking of cities in the eastern region and the ranking of cities in the central region.
