Interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope is a solid-state gyroscope with the characteristics of sensitive response,fast startup,no moving parts,high reliability,and strong impact resistance.The optical fiber ring is the key sensitive component of the gyroscope.The non-reciprocity error of the optical fiber ring optical path is affected by the physical factors such as temperature and external forces.This paper conducts a research on high-precision tension detection and control for the fiber ring manufacture.Firstly,the high-precision control of the fiber tension using the four-level winding process was adopted to reduce the non-reciprocity error of the fiber loop.The requirements of the highquality optical fiber loops require optical fiber tension control accuracy is smaller than ±0.5g and measurement accuracy is 0.1g.Through a comparative analysis,a floating tension measurement method with high detection sensitivity and strong anti-interference is adopted as the measurement principle of the optical fiber tension sensor.A tension sensor is designed using an angle sensor as the sensitive component.Through Adams simulations and experiments,it is verified that the developed tension sensor has the characteristics of high accuracy,fast response and strong anti-interference,which can meet the requirements of the measurement system.Then,the software and hardware of the tension control system were developed using the STM32F407 MCU as the core processor.The integrated design was used to reduce the size of the main control board which can solve the practical problem that the system has a small space.The output shaft of the servo motor was equipped with a reducer,which ensures that the actuator has a good anti-interference ability and speed following characteristics.As the system is nonlinearity and time-varying due to the strong coupling,the parameter self-tuning integral separation PID control algorithm with good stability and applicability was used to achieve highprecision control of the tension.Finally,the experiments were carried out to verify the tension measurement and control system.The experiment results indicate that the parameter self-tuning integral separation PID algorithm has higher control accuracy,stronger stability and adaptability than the classic PID algorithm,and the servo motor speed control loop equipped with a high reduction ratio reducer has a stronger resistance interference ability.The tension control accuracy of the system can reach within±0.5g when the take-up wheel speed is 60r/min,which can meet the production requirements of the high-quality optical fiber ring.
