The function of ventilation and lighting of traditional houses mainly depends on the courtyard,a typical building cavity space,and the response to solar radiation is one of the important ecological mechanisms of the courtyard space of traditional houses.This study takes solar radiation as the starting point for research and puts forward the concept of courtyard "space diagonal".Under the framework of the three-dimensional space system constructed by the direction and angle parametric variables,the ecological performance of the traditional residential courtyard cavity space configuration is rethought.The research model of traditional residential courtyards in southern Anhui was established on the basis of surveys and data statistics.The relative magnitude of the difference in solar radiation reception between high and low temperature days was used as the basis for evaluating solar radiation suitability,and the "space diagonal" parameter range suitable for traditional residential courtyards in southern Anhui was derived through a parameterized platform.The reference system based on the "diagonal space" ecological performance provides a design basis for the design of modern courtyard houses.The coping strategy of solar radiation reflects the optimal spatial scale and proportion of the courtyard building.
