The light fields in our life are partially coherent.Even the lasers in the laboratory have the limited coherence area.Therefore,the study on the properties of partially coherent light fields plays a vital role in the exploration of the nature of light.On the other hand,since the productive expansion of the quantum mechanical Airy wave packet to the optical Airy beams,self-acceleration properties in various physical systems bring many researchers' interests.However,in the partially coherent light fields,the previous studies have not focused on the topics of bringing the spatial incoherence into fully coherent self-accelerating light beams.For example,how could we realize the partially coherent self-accelerating light beams without any reduced acceleration properties?Assuming they can be achieved,could such beams interfere with each other?If they could,what is the difference between the interference patterns generated by these light beams and those in full coherent light fields?In addition to the well-known Airy beams,can one propose other partially coherent light fields that still exhibit self-accelerating properties?The existence of these problems indicates that the study on partially coherent self-accelerating light fields is still an important hot spot.In this dissertation,I conduct a series of study on partially coherent self-accelerating light fields with nondestructive acceleration properties,based on the method of introducing the correlation function in the spatial-frequency domain.This dissertation stems from the theory of classical optical coherence.It is pointed out that the key to realize the self-accelerating property in partially coherent light fields is to replace the full coherent light source with the partially coherent light source.The multiple versions and the generalized versions of partially coherent self-accelerating light field are also proposed.In addition,this dissertation verifies the existence of the latter one in experiments and gives the theoretical expression of its coherent-mode representation.Finally,in this paper,an effective scheme to control the self-accelerating property of this kind of light field is presented.The brief introduction of this dissertation is as follows:In Chapter 1,I review the basic concepts of optical coherence theory and the historical development of self-accelerating fields.Based on the wave equation of electromagnetic field,the propagation model of partially coherent light field is established.In Chapter 2,I study the partially coherent dual and quad self-accelerating light beams,and discuss their physical interference effects.In Chapter 3,the generalized version of partially coherent self-accelerating light beams is proposed.The expression of their coherent-mode representation is derived.I also show the corresponding experimental observation and put forward a scheme that can effectively control the self-accelerating property of these light beams.Chapter 4 gives a summary for this dissertation,including the conclusion,innovation,and the outlook to the future study.
