With the progress of social science and technology,optical fiber sensors have played a more and more important role in many fields,with the requirements for the performance of optical fiber sensor more and more strict.Due to the special structure of photonic crystal fiber,the expected characteristics of light transmission can be achieved by designing the parameters of its air hole.Sensors based on photonic crystal fiber stand out in many other fiber sensors,but a lot of theoretical and experimental research are still needed to give full play to its light transmission characteristics.In this paper,a new type of photonic crystal fiber based on a new structure is introduced,whose characteristics are studied from both simulation and experiment.The main work is as following:1.The principle and characteristics of the optical fiber sensors are summarized,which are classified from different perspectives.The research progress of curvature sensing,refractive index sensing and photonic crystal fiber sensing at home and abroad is summarized.2.The bending sensing mechanism of two core photonic crystal fiber based on the principle of Mach Zehnder interference is analyzed.The mode field distribution of the new structure photonic crystal fiber is simulated by using MODE Solutions software.The influence of bending radius and bending direction on the mode field distribution of the new structure photonic crystal fiber is studied.3.The sensing characteristics of two core photonic crystal fiber are studied experimentally.The Mach-Zehnder Interferometer sensor based on two core photonic crystal fiber is fabricated,and the sensing experimental platform is designed and built.The bending and refractive index sensing characteristics of the new structure photonic crystal fiber are studied.The influence of the bending direction and radius on the sensitivity of the sensor is studied by experiments,and the sensing characteristics of the refractive index of the sensor are also studied.
