Acoustic instruments like the single-beam echo sounder are basic tools for marine topographic survey;consequently,the effective detection and calibration of the equipment are crucial to ensure the quality and unity of marine survey data.In order to solve the problem of laboratory calibration of the single-beam echo sounder,this paper analyzes the law of sound propagation in the measurement process of the single-beam echo sounder,and puts forward the acoustic equivalent detection and calibration method for laboratory calibration of the single-beam echo sounder.Through the design of wedge-shaped end face anechoic structure and the development of acoustic equivalent underwater acoustic response device,the laboratory testing and calibration system of the single-beam echo sounder is established,and the laboratory testing and calibration system of the single-beam echo sounder is built in the experimental anechoic tank of the East China Sea Standard Metrology Center of the State Oceanic Administration.The system only needs to set the delay attenuation parameters of the underwater acoustic response device to simulate the propagation process of the sound wave in the limited range of the laboratory sink,and then realize the full range equivalent measurement and quantity traceability of the single-beam echo sounder.The test and calibration system of the single-beam echo sounder is developed.The results show that the system meets the design requirements and is suitable for the calibration of the single-beam echo sounder with working frequency of 200 kHz at home and abroad.The calibration range covers 4 ? 600m;Based on the experimental results of 20?200m,according to the uncertainty transfer law,the expanded uncertainty of the detection and calibration system is 5.88 mm.The single-beam echo sounder detection and calibration system built in the limited range of the verification flume of the East China Sea standard Metrology Center of the State Oceanic Administration has the advantages of convenient operation and stable performance.It realizes the detection of the full range accuracy index of the single-beam echo sounder and the establishment of the traceability system.It provides the experimental method and reference basis for the establishment of the measurement and calibration standard of the single-beam echo sounder.It has a certain application value for the measurement of marine acoustic measuring instruments.
