Geological disasters generally refer to the unfavorable geological phenomena that are formed under the influence of the evolution of the natural environment or human engineering activities and cause losses and harm to the safety of people's lives and property as well as land, resources and environment. The research area in this paper is located at the intersection of the Loess Plateau,Weihe Basin, and the Qinling-Longshan Mountains in the west of Guanzhong,Shaanxi Province. The geological environmental conditions are relatively complex, and the topography and landforms are quite different, leading to more developed geological disasters and complete types. It is one of the most severe geological disasters in Shaanxi and even the whole country.Carrying out various studies on the geological disasters in the study area can provide important basic data and theoretical basis for the monitoring and early warning of local geological disasters, disaster prevention and mitigation, and engineering construction and protection work in the disaster area, which will promote the promotion of the Chencang District and Qianyang County in Baoji City.Socio-economic development and the protection of the lives and property of local people are of great significance. This paper takes Qianyang County-Chencang District of Baoji City as the research area, takes the type, development characteristics, distribution law and formation mechanism of geological hazards in the study area as the research content, and conducts the susceptibility assessment and zoning of the geological hazards in the research area.By dissecting typical geological disasters in the area, combined with background analysis of regional geomorphology, stratigraphic lithology, geological structure, neotectonic movement, meteorology and hydrology, and human engineering activities, the mechanism of geological disasters in the study area was initially identified, and then With the aid of Arc GIS software platform, the information volume method was used to evaluate and partition the susceptibility of geological disasters in the study area, and suggestions and measures for the prevention and control of geological disasters were put forward according to the actual situation. The main conclusions are as follows:1.The types of geological hazards in the study area mainly include landslides, landslides, debris flows and unstable slopes. There are 135 disaster sites, including 73 landslides,37 collapses,12 debris flows,13 unstable slopes, including 49 small and medium landslides,24large-scale landslides,7 small and medium-sized debris flows, and 5 large-scale debris flows.2.The geological disasters in the study area are characterized by mass, periodicity, suddenness and chain nature.Their formation, occurrence and development are inherent basic conditions such as topography, lithology and geological structure, meteorology and hydrology, seismic activity and engineering.Disturbance and other external influencing factors;the distribution of geological hazard points in the study area has four main points:concentrated around the active fault zone, concentrated in specific geomorphic units, concentrated along the surface water system, concentrated in Human-intensive areas.3.The non-prone areas of geological hazards are mainly distributed in the floodplain area of the Qianhe and Jinling Rivers and the flat terrace area on the north bank of the Qianhe;the low-prone areas are mainly distributed in the loess Liangao area and the main ridge bedrock of Qianyangling in the northern part of the study area. The Zhongyifa area is mainly distributed on both sides of the first-level tributary valley on the north bank of the Qianhe River and the loess hilly area around the rocky low mountain area;the Gaoyifa area is mainly distributed on the plateau slopes on both sides of the first-level tributary valley on the north bank of the Qianhe River.
