As an important hydraulic parameter,water level is an important data information no matter in industrial,agricultural production or practical application of engineering area.Accurate detection of water level information is of great significance to the control of open channel water delivery.The current water level measurement mainly focuses on large-scale,natural engineering fields,and seldom pays attention to water level measurement under narrow terrain.Therefore,in this article,the research on the laser measurement technology of the liquid level in the slender vertical tube was carried out and a laser level gauge was designed in order to meet the liquid level measurement in the vertical tube.Taking into account the variety of laser level technology,after comprehensive consideration from many aspects,the laser measurement method with pulsed laser ranging technology has finally been chosen as the core to complete the design of this type of laser level gauge.In the design,it mainly reflects the practicality and ease of use of the design,and reduces the project cost as much as possible to achieve large-scale applications.In the design of the laser level gauge hardware equipment,STM32F103 series chip and TDC-GP22 are used as the main control chip and the main timing chip.The power module,temperature acquisition module,microprocessor minimum system,high-precision timing circuit,laser signal transceiver and processing module and communication module,as six main parts,provide hardware support for the realization of laser liquid level measuremen.In the part of software design of the laser level gauge,system initialization configuration,TDC time measurement,data processing,serial communication and other modules are designed,based on the core of actual use of the TDC-GP22 chip and the precise measurement of the laser flight time.With the support of the above content,an experimental platform was built after completing the software and hardware design and the installation of the entire system in order to conduct experiments and tests under different environments.Error analysis and verification of the experimental data were carried out when experiments finished.The results show that(1)The system achieves the designed functional tasks at a low cost,and can measure the liquid level data in the slender vertical pipe more accurately.The relative error is less than 0.3% as its measure range is 10 m,and the absolute error is within 15mm;(2)The system has strong environmental adaptability,which can be used continuously for a long time,and has good adaptability to the complex environment in the field.
