Exploration of deep hydrocarbon reservoirs has gradually become a focus of research at home and abroad. The migration system plays a key role in hydrocarbon accumulation in deep strata, therefore, the research of deep hydrocarbon migration system in Shunbei area is of great significance. In this paper, the types and characteristics of deep hydrocarbon migration pathway in Shunbei area of Tarim Basin are summarized by using geological, geophysical, geochemical, oil field production, field observation and core observation data.Deep hydrocarbon reservoirs in Shunbei area of Tarim Basin are mainly distributed near the major strike-slip fault zones. The type of deep hydrocarbon reservoir is karst fracturedvuggy reservoir with high maturity.Deep hydrocarbon migration system distributes heterogeneously in the study area, which consists of major strike-slip fault zone, fracture zone and dissolution hole. The strike-slip faults are segmented vertically and horizontally due to multiple tectonic movements. There are many structural types of strike-slip faults in vertical direction, and the large-scale strike-slip faults in the plane are formed by the interconnection of several small strike-slip faults with similar strike-slip directions. The structural differences among these segments were caused by different stresses, leading to significant differences in hydrocarbon migration capacity. The fracture zones, developing near the strike-slip faults and the dissolution pore, have been proved to effectively improve the physical properties of carbonate matrix and its ability to migrate oil and gas.Strike-slip faults play a key role in linking hydrocarbon sources and reservoirs, and are the main migration channels for hydrocarbon vertical migration.Fractures and dissolution pore migration systems developed on both sides of strike-slip faults enable hydrocarbon migrated to carbonate rocks through strike-slip faults to further migrate to the strata on both sides of the faults, thus expanding the scale of deep hydrocarbon reservoirs.
