The frequency of the terahertz wave is in the range of 0.1 THz-10 THz,where locates between the far-infrared wave and the microwave.There are many unique electromagnetic properties such as transients,broadband,and low energy.Therefore,the terahertz spectral imaging technology has great application prospects in the fields of life science and medical imaging.Based on the high sensitivity of terahertz attenuated total internal reflection spectral imaging technology,the dielectric responses of different biological materials were studied.And by the combination of the single-layer and two-layer ATR model,the measurements for dielectric properties of the cell monolayer in THz region were realized.Furthermore,we proposed a new method to realize the resolution compensation for THz-ATR imaging.The main content and innovations of this article are as follows:1.The research progress and development of terahertz spectroscopy and imaging technology in biomedical science were introduced and summarized.2.Based on high-sensitive attenuated total internal reflection technology in THz region,the dielectric properties of the artificial cerebrospinal fluid,biocompatible material,glioma tissue for rats and biomedical materials(DNA,RNA and protein)in glioma patients were studied.3.The new cell-cultured silicon containers were designed.We cultured the cell monolayer in the silicon containers and attached closely the silicon containers onto the upper surface of the Dove prism to achieve rapid and multiple measurements for cell monolayer in THz region.Based on optical admittance theory,by the combination of single-layer and two-layer ATR model,the dielectric responses of glial cell monolayer in the THz region were studies on the condition of unknown cell monolayer thickness in the experiment.4.Based on the resolution compensation system for attenuated total internal reflection terahertz imaging,the compensation prism group which located between the terahertz focusing lens and the Dove prism was added,and the problem for the imaging distortion effect caused by the focus shift can be effectively solved.Finally the high-quality imaging for water can be achieved.
