As an important part of biodiversity,insect diversity plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and biological control.It is an ideal experimental material for studying biodiversity,especially species diversity.In this study,the number of insects was counted and the diversity of insect community and insect fauna were analyzed in the Gaogesitai Hanwula Nature from June 2019 and August 2020.1.A total of 5523 insects of 371 species were collected belonging to 10 orders,103 families.Lepidoptera,Hemiptera,Orthoptera and Coleoptera were dominant.The sum of families in 4 orders accounted for 59.22% of families,70.02% of species and 75.14% of individuals.The dominant families were Cerambycidae,Oedipodidae,Nymphalidae and Pentatomidae.2.Among the six vegetational types,Quercus mongolica forest,Stipa capillata grassland and Salix rosmarinifolia had the largest number of insects,all of which are 9orders.In the Salix rosmarinifolia that the number of families and species was largest with 73 families and 189 species.The endemic species which at most 40 species in Salix rosmarinifolia and at least 4 species in Larix gmelinii.3.The diversity of insect community in different vegetational types in the nature reserve is obviously difference.the diversity index and richness index of the Willow bush are the highest,the Salix rosmarinifolia are the lowest;As the dominance increased,the the diversity index and richness index of insect community decreased;there is no significant relationship between evenness and other indexes.4.There is no moderate or very similar group in the similarity of insect community.The Stipa capillata was very similar to Betula dahurica-Betula platyphylla and Betula dahurica-Quercus Mongolica-Populus davidiana was very similar to Salix rosmarinifolia that the similarity coefficient is 0.21,others were moderately dissimilar.The results showed that the insect composition of different vegetational types was quite difference.5.The fauna analysis showed that the insects in the reserve were mainly based on Palaearctic distribution species and widespread species.Among the 7 types of 44 distribution types,the main distribution types were Mongolia New area + Northeast area + North China + Central China and Qinghai Tibet area + Mongolia New area +Northeast area + North China + Central China + South China + Southwest.
