With the development of optical communication technology and the construction of the fifth generation mobile communication technology,polarization mode crosstalk and cumulative dispersion are two problems that affect the high-speed and large capacity information transmission of optical fiber.Therefore,solving these two problems has become critical issues of 5G optical fiber technology.However,it is difficult to make both polarization modes coupled with the outer core mode near the target wavelength.In order to solve the above problems,this paper presents the microstructure fiber with both polarization maintaining and dispersion compensation properties in many ways.Firstly,the background and significance of the project,the optical guiding mechanism and classification of the micro structure fiber,the characteristics of the polarization maintaining fiber are introduced briefly.The research progress of polarization maintaining compensation fiber at home and abroad are systematically described.Then,the difficulties of the combination of the polarization preserving and dispersion compensation characteristics of the micro structure fiber are analyzed,and the main numerical research methods for the simulation analysis are introduced.Secondly,by filling liquid crystal into the inner and outer fiber cores of conventional hexagonal double core micro structure fiber,a kind of polarization maintaining-dispersion compensation micro structure fiber filled with liquid crystal is designed.Under the control of external conditions,the fiber has the performance of keeping deviation and dispersion compensation,and the direction of dispersion compensation can be adjusted.Thirdly,by setting two kinds of transverse and longitudinal hole spacing and the whole structure of the whole elliptical hole compressed fiber,increasing the asymmetry of the fiber,a polarization maintaining-dispersion compensation micro structure fiber with compressed lattice is designed.The fiber parameters are adjusted to make the high-order mode of the polarization mode of the inner core and the outer core two polarization mode coupling at the same time around 1.55?m,so as to realize the polarization maintaining and dispersion compensation.The performance of the two polarization directions can also produce large negative dispersion near the target wavelength.Finally,a new kind of broad band polarization maintaining-dispersion compensation fiber based on weak coupling mechanism is designed by using the octagonal structure.The fiber core is constructed by ignoring two air holes in the first vertical direction and stretching six other air holes,so that the inner and outer cores are weakly coupled to increase the bandwidth.
