Optoelectronic devices developed by combining two new type materials of Graphene and photonic crystal fiber have become a research hotspot in recent years.However,the existing graphene is limited by various aspects,the graphene film can only be transferred/coated on the surface or end face of the optical fiber by the transfer method,which limits the applications of graphene.Therefore,this article uses chemical vapor deposition(CVD)to decompose the carbon source into carbon atoms to generate nucleation points in the air holes of the fiber,and grow graphene films in the inner holes of the photonic crystal fiber(PCF)to form graphene fibers,which combine the fiber with graphene without destroying the fiber structure.In this paper,the preparation,characterization,optical transmission and modulation characteristics of graphene fibers are systematically studied,and the main research contents are as follows:Firstly,this article briefly introduces the development and basic characteristics of graphene,such as optical,electrical,mechanical properties and so on.The main growth methods of graphene and the advantages and disadvantages of electro-optic modulators based on graphene fibers are discussed and analysis.Secondly,the research of graphene fiber,such as theoretical simulation,graphene growth on the insulating substrate and characterization of graphene fiber to prove reliability of graphene grown in optical fiber pores.Thirdly,the optical transmission and modulation characteristics of various graphene fibers are studied based on the finite element method,and the influence of graphene fiber parameters such as graphene layers,the number of air hole and the radius of air hole on the transmission and modulation characteristics of graphene fibers is deeply studied.Finally,the preparation process of graphene fiber is studied.The process and technology of directly growing graphene in the air holes of photonic crystal fibers by chemical vapor deposition is explored,which focus on correlation of experimental parameters such as growth temperature,growth time,methane gas flow and fiber type and the quality of the graphene film to analyze the law of grown graphene layers and defects.
