Clouds are visible aggregates of water droplets,ice crystals,or their mixtures in the atmosphere.The vertical structure of the cloud,refer to the height of the cloud boundary,is a key parameter for studying the radiation transmission and water vapor cycle of the earth-gas system,and is also one of the most important observation targets of meteorological satellites.FY-4A satellite,launched on December 11,2016,is the first satellite of China's new generation of geostationary orbit meteorological satellite Fengyun-4 series,with strong meteorological observation capability.Taking fy-4a satellite as the main research object,this paper carried out the following work around the quantitative verification of cloud top height products and the development and application of cloud bottom height products:(1)the research status of cloud top height and cloud bottom height is summarized,and the scientific load,operation status and data products of fy-4a satellite are mainly introduced.At the same time,other new generation of geostationary orbit meteorological satellites in the world are introduced,such as goes-r satellite in the United States,himawari-8 satellite in Japan and mtg-i satellite in Europe.(2)fy-4a satellite cloud top height products were compared and verified.Will be in the United States A-"Train"series the Cloud Sat and CALIPSO detection of cloud top height in satellite as A true value,and FY-4 A satellite and Himawari-8 satellite cloud top height of the products of quantitative comparison,the results show that FY-4 A satellite and Himawari-eight satellites and spaceborne radar Cloud Sat/CALIPSO detection of cloud top height results have good consistency,but the inversion results of multi-layer cloud error is relatively large.Fy-4a and himawari-8 have similar overall pe????ormance,but each has advantages in different cloud types of detection results.(4)a method for analyzing the three-dimensional structure of clouds in tropical cyclones is proposed.Based on the geostationary orbit meteorological satellite inversion cloud top height,cloud thickness and cloud bottom height,the near real-time monitoring of the three-dimensional cloud structure in the tropical cyclone can be achieved to some extent.Using the himawari-8 satellite observation data from 2015 to 2018,the spatial characteristics of the three-dimensional cloud structure of tropical cyclones and its relationship with the intensity of tropical cyclones were analyzed?...
