With the rapid development of heavy ion nuclear physics,the amount of data generated by heavy ion experiments is increasing,the transmission speed of experimental data is therefore continuously increasing.The bandwidth of the backplane bus of the traditional data transmission system is limited,the transmission of experimental data is no longer possible,only slow control can be performed.This leads to a large waste of system resources,and the development of heavy ion nuclear physics is therefore restricted.In order to meet the needs of heavy ion physics,it is of great significance to study the data transmission system of the heavy ion experimental device.In this paper,a data transmission system of a heavy ion experimental device is designed.The system adopts Micro TCA architecture,small size and low cost,each functional module is designed separately as a subsystem,which is not only easy to develop and maintain,but also convenient to continuously upgrade with the development of heavy ion nuclear physics.The backplane bus of the system uses a high-speed serial bus PCIE,which has a transmission speed that is several times higher than that of the traditional parallel bus,and has the potential for further development,which is very suitable for the needs of heavy ion experiments.The system realizes the analog-to-digital conversion,serial-to-parallel conversion and8b/10 b encoding and decoding of optical fiber data;realizes data buffering and cross-clock domain transmission;realizes the establishment of PCIE link and the transceiver of PCIE transactions;completes the EP device driver;realizes the pixel data reception and image restoration.In this paper,single-board loopback test,dual-board loopback test,and application test are performed on the data transmission system.It is proved that the system can receive pixel data through optical fiber link,can transmit data through PCIE link,and can complete image restoration,and the transmission speed can reach up to 5Gbps.The system can meet the needs of heavy ion experiments.
