In this paper,multi-arc ion plating technology was used to deposit Zr N coating and Zr N/Cu coating on the surface of 316L stainless steel.The microstructure and phase composition of the coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and X-ray diffractometer(XRD).Analysis of mechanical properties of coatings using nanoindenter and nanoscratch,The reciprocating friction and wear testing machine was used to test the friction and wear resistance of the coating in atmospheric environment and artificial sweat,and the corrosion resistance of the coating was tested by an electrochemical test system.The antibacterial activity of the coating against Escherichia coli(Gram-negative)and Bacillus(Gram-positive)was tested by the plate coating method.First,by controlling the N2flow rate,Zr N coatings with atomic N contents of47.06%,43.48%and 41.93%were prepared.It is found that the Zr N coating has a uniform structure and presents a typical columnar crystal structure.The Zr N coating with the lowest atomic N content has the best mechanical properties,wear resistance and corrosion resistance,and its hardness reaches 23.23 Gpa,the average friction coefficients between dry friction and artificial sweat are 0.526 and 0.245,and the self-corrosion current density in artificial sweat with p H=5.5,p H=6.5,and p H=8.8 is smaller.The above situation shows that with the decrease of N content,various performance indicators of Zr N coating gradually increase,which shows that the N2 flow rate during the preparation of Zr N coating significantly affects the quality of the coating.Secondly,Zr N/Cu coating was prepared by adding Cu element,and the structure and properties of 316L stainless steel,Zr N coating with N content of 41.93%and Zr N/Cu coating were compared and analyzed.The results show that the Zr N/Cu coating has a denser structure,but the high content of copper reduces the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the Zr N/Cu coating.While in the dry friction environment,the Zr N coating exhibited the best wear resistance,and in the artificial sweat environment,the Zr N/Cu coating exhibited the best wear resistance.Electrochemical experimental analysis results show that the corrosion resistance of Zr N coatings with different N contents is better than that of 316L stainless steel,which means that the Zr N coating deposited on 316L stainless steel shows better wear resistance and corrosion resistance,the addition of Cu leads to a significant decrease in the corrosion resistance of Zr N/Cu coatings.Finally,the results of the study on the antibacterial ability of Zr N/Cu coating against Escherichia coli(Gram negative)and Bacillus(Gram positive)showed that Zr N/Cu coating exhibits excellent antibacterial properties,reaching 100%antibacterial ability against both bacteria within 100 min,the antibacterial rate of 316L stainless steel and Zr N coating against two kinds of bacteria did not exceed 30%within 100 min.
