Extensive use of fossil fuels makes energy crisis continue growing and intensifying environmental problems.So,it is necessary to develop a clean and renewable energy for better supporting the development of human society.Solar energy is a clean,environmental and strong sustainable primary energy that has broad prospective compared to traditional fossil fuels.Dye-sensitized solar cell is an important member of the solar cell family;it is a kind of new photovoltaic devices that could transform solar energy directly into electric energy.Compared with conventional solar cells,it has lower manufacturing cost,more simple synthesis procedure,and better environmental friendliness in production;therefore,it attracts more and more attentions.Dye sensitizer is the core part of the dye-sensitized cell and plays rote of absorbing light energy,exciting electrons and injecting into the semiconductor.Azacalix[4]arenes,which is a new kind of host molecules in supramolecular chemistry,has never been used in the field of dye-sensitized solar cells.It has several advantages,such as a strong Soret absorption band at 400-450 nm department after coordination with the fullerene,a flexible structure,easy to design,modify and synthesize,etc.In this paper,we designed and synthesized several copper-complexed azacalix[4]arene dye sensitizers.The performance of their photovoltaic device were also investigated.Chapter 1: An overview of the development on solar energy,solar cells,dye-sensitized solar cell sand dye sensitizers.Chapter 2: Design and synthesis of the azacalix[4]arene dye sensitizers.Chapter 3: Investigation of photovoltaic performance of azacalix[4]arene dye sensitized photovoltaic devices,to reveal the relationship between the structure and properties of calixarene photo sensitizers series.
