| In contemporary society,the problem of insomnia is becoming more and more serious.The aromatic essential oil has been widely used in calming the nerves and relieving uneasiness of mind and body due to its natural and safety.As a multi-component mixture,the chemical property of the aromatic essential oil is extremely unstable.Its applications are limited by easy oxidation,volatility and single liquid form.The use of microcapsule technology can effectively solve the above problems,which is also applied for the package of the essential oils.In this paper,a compound sleep-aid essential oil is selected according to the flavor preference test.Four kinds of microcapsule production methods,such as the envelope method,the complex coacervation method,the extrusion method and the condensation spray method.The subject studies the optimal process,physical characterization,thermal stability and composition changes before and after packaging of four kinds of packaging methods for essential oil microcapsule.Three kinds of microcapsules are selected and employed for the aromatherapy film production.Then the release law and sleep aids are observed to investigate the release law of the mixed microcapsule.The effect of uniform release is achieved as far as possible.The significance of the subject is broadening the application forms and applications of sleep-aid essential oils,which provides a reasonable basis for the future application of essential oil microcapsules.The sleep-aid essential oil microcapsules are made by the envelope method,the complex coacervation method,the extrusion method,the condensation spray method.And the embedding rate is regarded as an evaluation criterion to determine the optimal process of each production method.The order of the embedding rate is: the condensation spray method> the complex coacervation method > the extrusion method > the envelope method.Some representation methods,such as scanning electron microscope(SEM),Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR)and gas chromatography and mass spectrometry(GC-MS),are employed for analyzing and characterizing the structure and property of lavender essential oil microcapsules.Four kinds of microcapsule technologies package the essential oil.The structure of the microcapsule produced by the envelope method is similar to rhombohedral inclusion,and the other three structures are similar to globose.The structure of the microcapsule produced by the extrusion method is more regular and the corresponding surface is smoother.The order of the particle size is the extrusion method>the condensation spray method>the complex coacervation method>the envelope method.Before and after packaging the sleep-aid essential oil,its dominant components almost have no change,and the shares of its main functional components(linalyl acetate and linalool)change little.The expected life is estimated by the stability accelerated testing and natural storage under no pressure and pressure conditions.The microcapsules produced by the extrusion method and the envelope method are not sensitive to the pressure.The microcapsules produced by the condensation spray method are extremely vulnerable to stress then rupture.The order of the expected life is:the extrusion method>the complex coacervation method>the condensation spray method>the envelope method.The advantages and disadvantages of four microcapsules are analyzed.The aromatherapy film is made based on the certain percentage with 1:1:2 among the envelope method,the extrusion method,the condensation spray method.The Salivary cortisol concentrations and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)before and after the use of aromatherapy films are monitored based on volunteer experiments.Results show that there is a significant difference in the experimental data before and after 30 days of using the aromatherapy film.The Salivary cortisol concentrations and the PSQIs of the volunteers are significantly reduced.The aromatherapy film made by the sleep-aid essential oil microencapsulation still has the sleep-aid effect. |
