With the development of aerospace,military technology and modern medical technology,the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of parts are more and more demanding.The traditional milling process is difficult to meet the processing requirements.In order to adapt to the requirements of difficult machining materials,a lot of basic research has been done in terms of tool materials,tool parameters and processing technology.A large number of studies have shown that the surface quality and size accuracy of the machined surface are obviously improved under the aid of ultrasonic vibration.This paper build a radial ultrasonic vibration assisted milling experiment platform in TH5650 type vertical milling machining center,and several radial ultrasonic vibration assisted milling theory,fixture design,system analysis and 6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy milling experiments on radial ultrasonic vibration assisted milling was studied.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The radial ultrasonic vibration aided milling theory is studied in depth,and the motion characteristics and feed characteristics of radial ultrasonic vibration are studied,which will pave the way for subsequent experimental parameter selection.A special fixture is designed on the TH5650 vertical milling and boring machine center,and the relationship between the parts of the system is defined,and the construction of radial ultrasonic assisted milling experimental platform is completed.(2)The modal analysis of the radial ultrasonic vibration system by using finite element analysis software,to verify whether the vibration system to meet the need of the work;the static analysis on the vibration device,to ensure that does not cause plastic deformation of the horn in the milling force;on the slide table for contact analysis,to ensure that the role in the milling force the effect of friction,vibration will not.(3)To study the change rule of milling force of radial 6061-T6 and aluminum milling under different process parameters,the influence of ultrasonic vibration milling on milling force is obtained.(4)To study the change rule of surface quality of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy under radial ultrasonic vibration milling and conventional milling under different process parameters,the influence of ultrasonic vibration milling on the surface topography and surface roughness of machined surface is obtained.(5)To study the change rule of dimensional accuracy of radial 6061-T6 and aluminum alloy under different process parameters,the influence of ultrasonic vibration milling on the size accuracy of machined surface is obtained.Through theoretical and experimental analysis,it is proved that under the assistance of ultrasonic vibration,the milling force and surface roughness can be reduced effectively,and the dimensional accuracy can be improved.Radial ultrasonic vibration assisted milling is an effective processing method.
