The 21st century is the century of ocean,"marine metal" titanium alloy is one of the key materials in the field of marine engineering. However, the good biocompatibility of titanium alloys leads to serious problem of marine bio-fouling in the application.marine bio-fouling can cause a series of hazards, such as increase the ship resistance, blocking pipes, changing the conductivity and thermal conductivity of materials, introducing foreign marine species from elsewhere. Therefore, the marine bio-fouling problem has become a key factor to restrict the extensive application of titanium alloys in the marine environment. The marine bio-fouling of titanium alloys has become a serious problem need to be solved. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to solve the marine bio-fouling of titanium alloys,TC4 titanium alloy was selected as the research material,a galvanic couple is composed by titanium alloy and copper alloy, the anti-fouling copper ions can facilitate dissolution under the effect of potential difference, the propose of inhibiting the marine organisms on titanium alloys surface can be achieved. In this paper, the anodic materials for coupled with TC4 titanium alloy was selected from three materials, including T2 red copper,B10 copper alloy and B30 copper alloy, the results showed that T2 red copper has the highest copper ions dissolution rate and the most negative corrosion potential(-300mV),T2 red copper is the anode material for coupled with TC4 titanium alloy. In order to assessment the acceleration effect of the dissolution of copper ions by titanium-copper galvanic corrosion, the immersion experiment of T2 red copper in static artificial seawater was carried out,the results showed that the corrosion products of Cu2O formed on the surface inhibit the dissolution of copper ions, moreover, the dissolution rate of copper ions decreased to 5?g/(cm2.d)after 20 days, which could not meet the antifouling standard for inhibit the adhesion of marine organisms on the surface of titanium alloy. The galvanic corrosion experiments and electrochemical experiments of titanium-copper galvanic couple in static artificial seawater showed that the titanium-copper galvanic couple is easy to have intensely corrosion reaction, and the corrosion rate of T2 red copper is accelerated. The dissolution rate of copper ions can maintained at 160?g/(cm2.d),therefore,titanium-copper galvanic corrosion can inhibit marine organisms to attachment on the surface of titanium alloy.
