In order to strengthen the self-defense and counterattack ability of military ships on the battlefield, more and more design requirements for the material used in the hull deck and superstructure have been proposed.Traditional metal composite materials can no longer meet the design requirements, but composite foam sandwich panels have many excellent properties such as lighter weight, higher specific stiffness、high specific strength、highly stealthy、and high fire resistance, the ability to absorb and transmit shock wave. The purpose of this paper is to simulate the dynamic response of composite foam sandwich panels in shock wave caused by explosion, and to discuss the optimal design for improving the anti-explosion performance of the panels by adjusting the design parameters. At the same time, based on the actual military ship superstructure,in order to predict the response of the superstructure in shock wave,a simulation model is built in ABAQUS to analyze the response of the ship superstructure under air explosion.Firstly,it summarizes the current development status and practical application of the anti-explosion design of sandwich panels, and clarifies the problems in the development in the field nowadays and the future research and development direction: structural lightweight design and improvement of mechanical properties.Secondly, the formation and propagation of air explosion shock wave in free condition are discussed. The commonly used formula in pressure peak calculation is briefly introduced.Thirdly, the state equation is used in ABAQUS to simulate the propagation of the shock wave in the air caused by explosion. The finite element model of the single composite foam sandwich panel is built,by adjusting the experimental conditions and the design parameters of the plate and observing the change of dynamic response, the best optimization method to improve the anti-explosion performance of the plate is proposed.Forthly, the finite element model of the composite superstructure was built in ABAQUS to simulate the dynamic response of the superstructure under the impact of the explosion, such as the deformation and damage of the superstructure, acceleration response and energy absorption. Finally, the methods and design principles used in the experiment are described in detail. The experiment process and data are recorded in detail, and the experimental data is analyzed to discuss the influence of the explosion shock wave on the plate structure.
