Camshaft as the core mechanical foundation part of the automobile engine gas distribution mechanism,its quality has a direct impact on the engine power,the life of the cam lifter friction pair,and the working state of the gas distribution mechanism,and its failure will directly lead to engine failure,traffic accidents and even casualties.Therefore,research on high-speed and high-precision non-destructive testing methods and equipment for large-scale camshafts in mass production has important application value.This paper takes the currently used combined camshafts as the research object and proposes a differential eddy current detection method for detecting fine cracks on the camshaft cam surface.Aiming at the micro-crack characteristics of the cam surface,the differential eddy current sensor was designed and manufactured with a track-shaped coil.And the COMSOL software was used to simulate and analyze the characteristics of the detection signal and the effects of different excitation,lift-off,coil spacing,and curvature radius of the convex surface of the arc.Then the differential eddy current experimental platform has been experimentally established.for demonstration,and the optimal differential eddy current sensor parameters was obtained.According to the characteristics of the cam profile,the multi-degree-of-freedom sensor tracking agency was designed,and established a flaw detection platform based on this agency to evaluate the detection performance.Finally,the core functional components of the camshaft automatic eddy current detection system were completed.Based on the above simulation analysis,experimental results,and actual detection requirements,the camshaft automatic eddy current detection system was designed completely,and a high-speed and high-precision automatic detection process was carried out,and industrial field detection applications were developed.Field test results show that the camshaft automatic eddy current detection system can stably and reliably realize the automatic detection process of camshafts on the production line,and meet the production cycle of the production line.
