Zinc and copper are important non-ferrous metals,which belongs to non-renewable resources.At present,the resources of zinc and copper are very dry.Developing a simple and efficient extraction separation method to recover valuable metal zinc and copper from waste alloys is one of the important ways to solve the problem of resource shortage.This paper reviews the development status of zinc and copper extraction methods,and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing extraction methods.A simple and easy extraction system is established for separating zinc and copper using P507(2-ethylhexyl phosphate mono(2-ethylhexyl)ester)as extractant,which lay a solid theoretical foundation for industrial and efficient separation of zinc and copper.(1)Firstly,P507 extraction copper and zinc for parameters were optimized.Taking into account the problems of time and reuse of organic phase,the selected 35%P507,the water phase p H=3.13,C2+2+Zn/Cu=0.2 mol/L,O/A=1:1,and the extraction time is 11 min,the separation coefficient of zinc/copper is 7.P507 stripped properties of copper and zinc were further explored.When C(H2SO4)=4.0 mol/L,O/A=1:3,the stripped time was 18min,the stripped rate of copper was 97.62%and that of zinc was 75%.The results show that the separation of zinc and copper can be achieved completely under the extraction parameters.(2)Secondly,the effect of P507 on extraction and separation of Cu-Zn binary solution system was studied.When 35%P507,O/A=1:1 and the extraction time is 15 min,the extraction rate of copper in the copper-zinc mixture(A)is 22.73%,the extraction rate of zinc is 95.15%,the extraction rate of copper in the zinc-copper mixture(B) is 3.63%,and the extraction rate of zinc is 45.13%.Under the best extraction conditions,the separation coefficients of zinc/copper in copper-zinc mixture(A)and zinc-copper mixture(B)are 70 and 20,respectively,which indicates that P507 can fully realize the separation of zinc from copper in these two mixtures.(3)Then,zinc and copper loaded into organic phase were extracted by sulfuric acid.The copper and zinc loaded into organic phase were extracted by sulfuric acid.When C (H2SO4)=4.5 mol/L,after 15 min extraction,zinc was extracted by a small amount of stripped,copper was almost completely stripped,and the stripped rate of copper reached 98%.It is analyzed that the separation coefficient of zinc/copper in Cu-Zn binary solution system is better than that of single zinc/copper,which should be related to the concentration change of extractant in organic phase.The mathematical model of P507 extraction of Cu-Zn binary solution system is established as Logistic function model.(4)Finally,the composition of the extracted complex is Cu(HL2)2,Zn(HL2)2,which were determined by slope method.The formation of hydrogen bond between P507 and metal ions confirmed by infrared spectroscopy indicates that the mechanism of extraction of copper and zinc by P507 is cation exchange reaction.Thermodynamic studies show that the extraction system belongs to a low energy consumption system.
