Continuous casting mold is very important reactor in metallurgy,whose working state plays a key role in the continuous casting machine's production capacity and slab quality.With the rapid development of computer hardware and software,the scope of mathematical simulation has become more and more extensive.By solving multi-physics control equations,it can be studied more in-depth metallurgical phenomena in the mold.In this paper,the commercial software Fluent and self-programming are combined to simulate the slab mold in two aspects: on the one hand,the flow field,temperature field and solidification process in the mold of the slab(210 mm×1350 mm)were simulated.The surface copper plate and cooling water temperature were studied.On the other hand,the optimized suitable parameters of the immersion depth of the mold,the opening angle of the nozzle and the pulling speed were investigated for the slab continuous casting mold with section of 300 mm × 2000 mm.The following conclusions were obtained:1.The maximum temperature of the narrow-sided copper plate of the mold is 600 K,the minimum temperature is 320 K,and the maximum temperature appears in the upper and middle area of the corner of the mold;the temperature difference of the corner area of the mold and the center area is 100 K at the maximum for the slab continuous casting mold with section of 210 mm×1350 mm;2.The temperature of the contact surface between the copper plate of the mold and the cooling water channel is 320 K ? 360 K,and the maximum temperature of the cooling water is 340 K.The larger the chamfer of the mold,the higher the overall temperature of the mold copper plate.The change of mold angle in each simulation program has little effect on the central area of the copper plate of the mold.3.When the chamfering angle is 30° for the slab continuous casting mold with section of 210 mm×1350 mm,the minimum temperature of the mold copper cooling water is 340K;when the chamfering angle is 50°,the maximum temperature of the mold copper cooling water is 354 K;The minimum temperature of the cooling water of the copper plate is consistent,about 310 K.4.According to three-factor three-level orthogonal numerical simulation test,comprehensively consider the conditions of the mold geometric and process parameters,and obtained the best case for the slab continuous casting mold with section of 300 mm × 2000mm: the immersion depth is 150 mm,the outlet angle of the outlet is 14°,the pulling speed It is 0.8 m/min.The thickness of the solidified shell in the slab mold is about 18.5 mm,the maximum speed of the free liquid surface is about 0.31 m/s,the height of the lower vortex center is about 0.75 m.
