Photothermal material is a kind of material that converts light energy into heat energy. It is widely used in photothermal therapy, solar water evaporation and desalination. However, photothermal material have been less studied in the degradation of organic pollutants.Methylene blue is a classic dye commonly used in printing and dyeing textiles, pharmaceuticals, biology, battery manufacturing, lead smelters, refining and chemistry. It can cause water pollution, destroy the ecological balance and endanger human health. Therefore methylene blue has been listed as a class 3 carcinogen by the world health organization cancer research institute.Hence,it is necessary to treat wastewater containing it.In this study,a novel main chain ferrocene-containing polymer with both photothermal and magnetic was synthesized by solvothermal imine condensation.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscope(SEM),thermogravimetry(TG),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Vibrating Sample Magnetometer(VSM),X-ray Diffraction(PXRD)and Energy Dispersion Spectroscopy(EDS)were used to characterize the structural, morphology, thermal stability, elemental composition and valence state, magnetism, crystal form and element distribution of the polymer. They were used to determine its structure. The photothermal conversion performance of the polymer and the degradation degree of the polymer to methylene blue under near-infrared 808nm laser, simulated solar light source and normal temperature were further studied. The experimental results show that the polymer had light absorption in the UV-visible-near infrared region with photothermal conversion performance, and the photothermal conversion efficiency was 19.27%,and has stable photothermal performance.Under the near-infrared 808 nm laser, the polymer greatly improves the degradation rate of methylene blue by well photothermal properties. Therefore, the method of photothermal degradation of methylene blue in this paper provides a new idea for the degradation of wastewater containing organic matter, which is expected to be applied in the production of circulating water.
