Grade 80 high carbon steel wire rod is one of the important products in wire industry.With the continuous development of the industry,the requirements of grade 80 high carbon steel wire rod for product structure,performance and surface quality are more and more stringent.The paper analyzes and studies the quality problems of grade80 high carbon steel products which affect the drawing performance according to the equipment and process conditions of Angang steel wire rod plant.The main research contents and achievements are as follows:(1)Combined with heating and controlled cooling process after rolling,the network cementite of LX80 B cord steel was studied.When the holding temperature of heating furnace was increased from 1050 ? to 1130?1150 ?,the precipitation of network cementite caused by billet segregation could be alleviated to a certain extent,and the cooling rate of wire rod after rolling could be controlled in the range of 21?25?/s,It can effectively inhibit the precipitation of network cementite during the cooling process after rolling.(2)The serious problem of brittle fracture of SWRH82 B steel in winter is studied.The residual tensile stress on the surface of wire rod is the main reason for the natural fracture of prestressed steel and brittle fracture of wire frame in service.Slowing down the cooling rate of wire rod after hot rolling can reduce the residual tensile stress on the surface of wire rod,The number of brittle fracture of prestressed steel wire frame in Anshan Iron and Steel Co.Ltd.has been reduced from the most serious average of12times/100 tons to less than 4 times/100 tons,which meets the requirements of users.(3)By means of metallographic analysis,scanning electron microscope analysis,artificial manufacturing defects and other means to trace the source of Grade 80 high carbon wire rod micro defects,it is judged that the content of Si and Mn elements in the billet defects is much higher than that of the matrix.This research is ahead of the same industry and provides the basis for wire rod defect determination.
