Metal flow and deformation during H-beam rolling have a significant impact on the quality of H-beam products.This paper was combined with the actual situation of HW400×400 which produced by a H-beam steel plant,used the ABAQUS finite element simulation software to establish a three-dimensional thermo-mechanical coupled finite element model and to simulate the universal rolling process.The control variable method was used to study the influence of different rolling temperatures,rolling speed,reduction and the friction coefficient on the metal flow of the H-beam.The stress state of the web rolling direction was optimized by changing the extension ratio of the web and the flange to avoid the generation of web rolling waves.The specific research contents were as follows:(1)According to the equipment parameters and field data of HW400×400 specification H-beam,the nonlinear finite element simulation software ABAQUS was used to establish the three-dimensional thermo-mechanical coupling finite element model of H-beam.The appropriate material model was selected and the key boundary conditions were determined for H-beam to simulate the universal rolling process.(2)The distribution of temperature field,stress field,strain field and rolling force of each pass in H-beam universal rolling process were simulated and analyzed.The result showed that the exit temperature of the H-beam after rolling was 920?,the web deformation of the H-beam was relatively uniform,and the R angle and the flange end were not uniformly deformed.The second pass and the third pass were taken as examples to illustrate the metal flow law and characteristics of the web and the flange during the rolling deformation process.It was found that there was no flowing zero displacement line at the flange The temperature and rolling force calculated by simulation were compared with the actual production data,and the accuracy of the simulation model established in this paper was verified.(3)The UF pass of the fourth pass about the H-beam universal rolling process was taken as the basic research pass.Using the control variable method,a series of experimental models were established for a large number of simulation calculations under the conditions of changing the rolling temperature,rolling speed,reduction amount,and friction coefficient.The results of different simulation calculations were compared to study the effects of different process conditions on the metal flow law and flange spread of H-beams.(4)Under the condition of changing the web and flange extension ratio of the H-beam,the rolling wave of the web was studied,and the formation mechanism of the rolling wave of the web was analyzed.Through a large number of simulation calculations,the critical value of the leg-to-waist extension ratio of the web wave during the universal rolling of the H-beam in the corresponding hole pattern was 0.96.
