Weak rigidity revolving parts are widely used in fields like special automobile,aerospace and shipbuilding industry.Due to the weak rigidity caused by the structural peculiarities,deformation is generated easily after the process of cutting and heat treatment,which affects machining accuracy of these parts badly.Meanwhile,owing to the effect like cutting force and cutting heat,residual stress is generated among the surface of these parts during the cutting process,which affects the surface integrity and performance of parts.Taking weak rigidity revolving part as research subject,this paper manages to demonstrate and discuss some possible results based on the research of residual stress and deformation after the process of cutting and heat treatment.After analyzing the principle of residual stress induced in cutting,a finite element prediction model of residual stress induced in cutting is established based on the equivalent loading theory and the improved prediction model of cutting force.The prediction model of residual stress is developed under the framework of ABAQUS software and the influence laws of cutting parameters and pre-stress on residual stress distribution induced in cutting are then studied.Considering the deformation feature of weak rigidity revolving part,a series of turning experiments are conducted using two specific systems,namely,elastic sleeve clamp system and fan-shaped chuck clamp system.Residual stress induced in turning is measured by X-ray diffraction method which verifies the prediction model of residual stress mentioned above.Roundness induced in turning is measured by three-coordinates measuring machine.The data is collected and then analyzed to support further discussions on the influence laws of cutting parameters and clamp system on the deformation of weak rigidity revolving part induced in turning.Heat treatment is one of the key processes that can affect the accuracy of weak rigidity revolving parts.Taking ring gear as research subject,this paper analyzes the relationship between quenching deformation and the content differences of alloying elements.A series of quenching experiments considering different quenching temperature and different contents of alloying elements are conducted.The influence laws of content differences of alloying elements on microstructure and quenching deformation of ring gear are studied then.The adjustments of quenching process parameters for different contents of alloying elements are presented.
