With excellent cutting performance,integrated carbide end mills are increasingly used in the processing and manufacturing of aerospace,rail transit,medical instruments,3C molds and other fields.However,the wide application and actual production requirements,the opposite of the milling cutter design accuracy,machining accuracy,service life and processing efficiency requirements are also increasing.It is an effective way to increase the using life of the tool to add a transition edge between the spiral edge and the straight edge to avoid sharp points.At present,the research on the transition edge is mainly focused on the spherical shape or circular arc shape,research for the shape of the end mill transition edge is less.In addition,the flank surface of the end mill plays an important role in ensuring the rotary shape,and is also an important factor to ensure the workpiece quality in the end mill processing.The research on the grinding technology of the flank surface of chamfered end mill needs to be carried out from the two aspects of cutting curve design and grinding wheel track design,including three main contents.(1)Research on cutting curve modeling of chamfer end millThrough the analysis of the structure of chamfer end mill,the cutting curve model of chamfered end mill is established.Based on the plane of stationary reference coordinate system,the corresponding moving coordinate system of flank surface structure is established.(2)Research on the grinding algorithm of the flank surface of chamfer end millBased on the mathematical model of the cutting tool,the suitable type of grinding wheel and the grinding method are selected to calculate the position of the center of the grinding wheel and the axis vector in the grinding path of the flank surface.According to the machine structure used in the research,the corresponding post-processing algorithm is designed to convert the grinding path into the numerical control code.(3)Research on compensation of grinding wheel edge wearIn view of the wear edge of grinding wheel,the position relationship between the flank surface and the grinding wheel was analyzed to obtaine the compensation vector,that can get the final grinding position for the actual production requirements.
