As one of the important ways to improve the surface performance of equipment materials, ion nitriding technology has become one of the current research hotspots. It is an important development direction of ion nitriding to further improve the performance of nitriding layer and the efficiency of nitriding. This article studies the catalysis effect of titanium on ion nitriding based on ion nitriding, and hopes to further improve its performance indexes and speed up the treatment efficiency by combining multi-component co-infiltration with titanium catalysis. And through the detection and analysis to explore its strengthening mechanism,to provide reference value for the development of new plasma nitriding technology. In this paper, based on ion nitriding, the effect of titanium on ion nitriding is studied, and through the combination of multi-element co nitriding and titanium catalyzing,we hope to further improve its performance indexes and speed up the treatment efficiency. The strengthening mechanism is explored through testing and analysis, which provides reference value for the development of new plasma nitriding process. In this paper,38 CrMoAl and 42 CrMo steels are selected as experimental materials, and the effect of titanium accelerating plasma nitriding is compared with that of conventional plasma nitriding.By changing the holding time, the best comprehensive efficiency of ion nitriding process was selected. The effects and causes of different treatment processes were analyzed, and the nitriding mechanism of plasma nitriding was analyzed.Under the optimal process time, the optimal flow rate of multi-element nitriding was studied, and the conventional ion nitriding, plasma multi-element nitriding and titanium accelerated plasma multi-element nitriding were compared.Through the surface hardness test, depth test of the nitriding layer, metallographic microscopic observation,SEM morphology observation,EDS energy spectrum analysis,X-ray diffraction analysis, the nitriding of three different processes were compared The effect and mechanism of the plasma multicomponent co penetration were analyzed. The results show that the optimum holding time for the comprehensive performance and nitriding efficiency of plasma nitriding with titanium catalyst is 3H under the technological parameters of holding temperature 535 ? and ammonia flow rate 2.0L/min for 38 CrMoAl Steel and 42 CrMo steel. The surface hardness of38 CrMoAl Steel can reach 1160.8hv,the depth of nitriding layer can reach 300 ? m,the surface hardness of 42 CrMo steel can reach 887.4hv,and the depth of nitriding layer can reach 400 ? M.The results show that the plasma nitriding process with titanium catalyst is a kind of rapid ion nitriding process with operability. It is also found that the hardness and the depth of the surface layer of the plasma nitriding are significantly higher than that of the plasma nitriding. The carbon elements provided by ethanol and carbon disulfide in the ionic Multicomponent Infiltration medium can promote nitrogen diffusion, and the oxygen element provided can form oxide on the surface to reduce friction.Trace sulfur element can form loose and porous sulfide layer on the surface of the material, which plays the role of oil storage and wear reduction, and improves the wear resistance.Titanium can form tin on the surface of nitriding layer and disperse on the surface of nitriding layer, which is the main factor to improve the surface hardness of samples.
