In previous studies,carbon has always appeared in the form of graphite,diamond,activated carbon,carbon nanotubes or carbon dots.Carbon quantum dots(CDS)have been found to have great potential applications in biomedical fields such as biological imaging,drug nanocarriers,gene therapy,photosensitizers,and therapy.CDS has many advantages,including biocompatibility,low toxicity,water solubility,and significant fluorescence properties that differ from other carbon nanostructures.Room temperature phosphorescent(RTP)carbon dot is one of the superior carbon nanomaterials discovered in recent years.Different research groups have made great efforts to synthesize and develop room temperature phosphorescent carbon dot materials with specific functions and properties.Room temperature phosphorescent materials have a wide range of applications,from biological imaging,optoelectronic devices to information security protection.However,the preparation of these materials is always lengthy and time-consuming.Inspired by existing research,we developed a microwave reaction method that can quickly prepare room temperature phosphorescent carbon dot material in only 8minutes.The prepared carbon dot can be irradiated by 365 nm UV lamp at room temperature,and the long afterglow lasting 8 seconds can be observed by the naked eye after the UV lamp is turned off,and the phosphorescent life is 487 ms.In view of this surprising experimental phenomenon,we carry out in-depth research.Research of this paper after the screening material,choose the monosaccharide,disaccharide and polysaccharide four sugar and nitrogen amino glucose as carbon source,boric acid as fixed matrix,by the microwave method,fast,easy synthesis of boron carbon hybrid type room temperature phosphorescence carbon material,explore the monosaccharides as basic unit,the universal point of synthesis of carbon between the host and fixed the performance characteristics of the material.For the synthesized materials,the structural characteristics and spectral properties of the carbon dots were analyzed by means of TEM,FTIR,XPS and XRD,and the variables were compared.It is found that boric acid interacts with carbon source to form a new chemical bond and crystal structure,which stabilizes the emission of carbon triplet state and reduces the non-radiative transition.Moreover,the content of boron atom affects the properties of the prepared carbon quantum dots.Boric acid is effective in preparing room temperature phosphorescence carbon dots not only for monosaccharides and disaccharides by microwave reaction,but also for polysaccharides and nitrogen-containing glucosamine.The preparation of room temperature phosphorescent carbon quantum dots with boric acid as carbon source matrix of sugar has general properties.This provides a new strategy for the preparation of long-acting room temperature phosphorescence carbon dots.
