Electrolytic copper foil is widely used in high-tech fields such as electronic information and new energy,focus on the production of copper clad laminate and printed circuit board,and most of the negative collector of lithium-ion battery.As the components of high-tech products are getting smaller size,higher power,more functions and more stable performance,the requirements for the performance of electrolytic copper foil are also getting higher.In addition,due to the continuous development of new energy resources,the quality requirements of lithium-ion batteries are becoming higher,and the requirements of energy storage density,service life and production cost are constantly improving.As the main material of lithium-ion battery negative collector,the quality of electrolytic copper foil also needs to be continuously improved.Therefore,the demand for high-quality electrolytic copper foil will be more and more.China's electrolytic copper foil industry and technology is lagging behind Japan and the United States due to its late start.It is an inevitable trend to vigorously develop electrolytic copper foil technology.This paper focuses on the quality of different quality electrolytic copper foil,the reasons of forming water ripple on foil and the influence of water ripple on the quality of foil,in order to provide theoretical support for the preparation of high quality foil.This study found that there is a big gap between the domestic high-quality electrolytic copper foil and ordinary foil in the surface roughness,tensile strength,corrosion resistance and other properties.These qualities of high-quality electrolytic copper foil are obviously better than that of ordinary foil;but the heat resistance and elongation of high-quality electrolytic copper foil are not significantly higher than that of ordinary foil.In addition,the grain size of high-quality electrolytic copper foil is uniform and basically same;the grain size of ordinary quality electrolytic copper foil is different,and the large and small grains are squeezed together and arranged irregularly.Due to the bad incoming plate,unreasonable roll shape control,insufficient accuracy of rolling mill roll system,insufficient sleeve or tube core and other technical or equipment reasons,or improper use of additives,the grain in electrolytic copper foil changes from face centered cubic crystal to tetragonal crystal.Because the stability of tetragonal crystal is worse than that of face centered cubic crystal,it is easier to produce point defects and line defects inside the electrolytic copper foil.These increased defects make the surface of the electrolytic copper foil no longer smooth and water ripples appear.The surface of electrolytic copper foil without water ripple seems to have a slight inward depression,while the surface of electrolytic copper foil with water ripple is more outward convex,and with the aggravation of water ripple,the transverse convex is more obvious.The appearance of water ripple also makes the heat resistance of electrolytic copper foil worse,the surface rougher,the crystal embrittlement,the micro stress and micro strain increase,but the appropriate amount of water ripple can increase the corrosion resistance of electrolytic copper foil.
