Among chemistry and materials community, research on Metal-Organic Frameworks(MOFs)is undoubtedly one of the most active fields.MOFs can be obtained by a very simple solvothermal synthesis method, the novel structures can be designed via the different metal ions or metal-containing clusters and organic ligands through conventional approach.Herein, the variety of inorganic nodes and organic linkers provides a large number of combinations and possibilities for synthesizing MOFs.MOFs have received extensive attention as a potential functional material due to its high degree of synthesis controllability. Moreover,MOFs have potential and variable applications, which have shown attractive prospects in luminescence, gas adsorption and chemical sensing. In the process of self-assembly,the formation of the structures is affected by many factors.Such as the choice of ligands, the adjustment of external environmental conditions and so on.Based on the above advantages,a flexible ligand 3,5-(4-carboxybenzyloxy)benzoic acid(H3L)was selected to construct the following polymers.Ten novel MOFs were successfully constructed using H3L ligand and variable metal centers under solvothermal conditions. And the structures of coordination polymers were determined by X-ray single crystal diffractometer. The luminescence, sensing and adsorption properties of the polymers were researched intensively in this paper. This work is divided into four parts:Part 1:At first, the formation and development process of coordination polymers are introduced briefly, and the current research progress in different fields are also described. Finally, the significance of this topic and the latest researches are further elaborated.Part 2:In this work,a flexible ligand H3L was utilized with Ln3+to obtain five isostructural and two-dimensional(2D)Ln-MOFs under solvothermal conditions,{[Ln(L)(H2O)2]·H2O}n.Herein,1 and 2 have shown unique strong red and green luminescence.Simultaneously,a series of heterometallic doped MOFs were obtained by tuning different ratios of Eu3+and Tb3+ions,showing the continuous color changes from red,orange-red,orange,orange-yellow,light yellow, yellow to green.Furthermore,1 could be used as an excellent fluorescent probe to detect nitrobenzene(NB)with a lower detection. In addition,1 shows strong stability and can sensitively detect NB.Part 3:Two novel 3D MOFs were constructed successfully under solvothermal conditions,{[Mg3(L)2(DMA)2]·1.5DMA}n(6),{[Ba0.5(H2L)]·CH3CN}n(7),using H3L ligand and Mg2+/Ba2+ions.7 and 8 have shown excellent fluorescence properties. Moreover,a certain proportion of red-emitting Eu3+ions and green-emitting Tb3+ions were successfully incorporated into the channels of the 7 to achieve white light emission.Single crystal structure analysis shows that the uncoordinated O atoms from ligand point into the pores, showing the strong adsorption of genistein through the hydrogen-bonding interaction.Also,7 can selectively adsorb the anionic dyes(CR).Part 4:Three new polymers were successfully synthesized with the Mn2+,Cd2+,Zn2+and H3L,{[Mn3(L)2(DMA)2]·2DMA}n(8),{[Cd3(L)2(DMA)2]·4DMA}n(9),{[Zn3(L)2(DMA)H2O]·3DMA}n(10).8 has shown the weak antiferromagnetic behavior.9 and 10 have shown strong solid-state fluorescence. Most importantly,10 has shown excellent adsorption capacity for iodine.
