Research On The Characteristics Of Tianjin Women’s Cheongsam During Modern Times

Tianjin is an early port city in northern China in modern times.The import of western cultural concept and the heritage of Chinese traditional culture had made Tianjin’s costume culture constantly seek for a balance between innovation and inheritance.In modern times,Tianjin Cheongsam is different from the elegant temperament of Beijing Cheongsam and the fashionable style of Shanghai Cheongsam,but it presents a life-oriented and pragmatic style.Tianjin cheongsam has unique aesthetic characteristics,which makes it worthy to have a research.This paper collects the data of Cheongsam from Tianjin local representative brand in 1930 s and 1940s;starting from two aspects of clothing modeling and detail characteristics,this paper first analyzes the characteristics of body shape,the proportion of length and sleeve length,the size characteristics of chest waist difference and waist hip difference,and the structural characteristics of small lapel;secondly,it combs the color,fabric and pattern of cheongsam.From the social cultural and economic development of Tianjin,the connection behind these characteristics is further analyzed.Then,the paper makes a practical research on the typical samples to analyze the beauty of modern Tianjin cheongsam more intuitively.Finally,the paper compares and analyzes Tianjin,Beijing and Shanghai cheongsam,expounds the typical characteristics,and carries out modern innovative design while retaining these features,which provides beneficial enlightenment for inheritance and innovation of Tianjin cheongsam.
