Buckling restrained brace is an efficient energy dissipation component.The characteristics of the core element material directly determine the performance of the brace.Aluminum alloy material has the advantages of high specific strength,convenient processing and good durability.In this paper,aluminum alloy is proposed as the core element of buckling restrained brace,and the structural parameters are formulated to design the aluminum alloy buckling restrained brace.The failure mode and energy dissipation characteristics of aluminum alloy buckling restrained brace are explored,and the application research of buc kling restrained brace is carried out with the help of actual bridges.Firstly,according to the existing research theory,the working process and failure mechanism of buckling restrained brace are clarified.The design principle of buckling restrained brace is given from the perspective of ensuring the overall stability and local stability of buckling restrained brace.Under the principle of ensuring the same cross-sectional area,the rectangle section and cross section aluminum alloy buckling restrained braces are designed and the structural details are explained.Secondly,the constitutive relationship of aluminum alloy material and other related factors are determined.With the help of finite element analysis software ABAQUS,the simulation models of different series of aluminum alloy buckling restrained braces are established,and the parameter analysis of the key factors affecting the performance of buckling restrained braces is carried out.The results show that the hysteretic curves of aluminum alloy buckling restrained braces with different cross sections are stable and full,and the energy dissipation performance is good.The bilinear restoring force model can be used for both types of brace.The buckling moment of cross section buckling restrained brace is delayed compared with that of rectangle section buckling restrained brace.The friction between internal and external elements after multi-wave instability makes the compressive bearing capacity significantly greater than the tensile bearin g capacity.The clearance of buckling restrained braces is 1mm in design.Finally,in order to test the applicability of aluminum alloy buckling restrained braces in practical engineering,the layout of aluminum alloy buckling restrained braces in practical bridges and the modeling method in midas/Civil are proposed.The effect of buckling restrained brace is verified by comparing with the original structure.The results show that the buckling restrained brace has a contradictory relationship with the stiffness improvement and energy dissipation performance of the structural system.This depends on the buckling restrained device 's own yield capacity,stiffness and device layout in the structure.
