Titanium alloy knifes is well known for its excellent cutting performance, long blade life, easy to rust, light weight and good diamagnetism.Japan,Germany and other countries have developed titanium alloy materials with high wear resistance and high hardness, and made them into titanium alloy knifes. However, the research of titanium alloy for knifes in China is just in its infancy, and there is no domestic brand of titanium alloy knifes in the market. In order to obtain titanium alloy materials with high strength, high hardness and high wear resistance to meet the application requirements of titanium alloy knifes,Ti55531 titanium alloy and TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composite were selected as the research objects, and the effects of preparation process and heat treatment process on the microstructure, mechanical properties and friction properties of the two materials were investigated,The relationship between microstructure, mechanical properties and tribology was established, then the optimum preparation process and heat treatment process were determined.Firstly, the effects of heat treatment process on microstructure, mechanical properties and tribological behavior of Ti55531 alloy were investigated. The results show that the mechanical and tribological properties of Ti55531 alloy at 750? are better than those at 800? and 860?,and the wear mechanism is mainly adhesive wear and delamination wear. The results show that the mechanical and tribological properties of the material are the best after solution aging treatment at860?,aging at 500? and air cooling, the wear mechanism is mainly abrasive wear.In summary, the optimum heat treatment of Ti55531 alloy is 860?/1h/WQ+500?/4h/AC.Secondly,the effects of preparation process and heat treatment process on the microstructure, mechanical properties and tribological behavior of TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composites were investigated. The results show that the properties of TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composites prepared by powder metallurgy are significantly better than those by melting process. After annealing at 450?,the hardness and strength of the composite are the highest, and the wear resistance is the best when the load is less than 10 N,but the wear resistance deteriorates sharply when the load is more than 10 N.After annealing at 850?and furnace cooling treatment, the composite has the best comprehensive mechanical properties and the best wear resistance under the experimental conditions. The wear mechanism of the heat treatment process is mainly abrasive wear.In summary, the best heat treatment method of TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composite is 850?/1h/FC.Then,the mechanical and tribological properties of the two materials under the optimal process were compared. The results show that the comprehensive mechanical properties of Ti55531 alloy treated by 860 ? /1h/WQ+500 ? /4h/AC are significantly better than those of TiC/Ti-6Al-4V composite prepared by 850 ? /1h/FC and powder metallurgy, which is more suitable for the application of titanium alloy knifes materials. Finally, this paper uses finite element analysis software to simulate and analyze the wear behavior of titanium alloy knifes, determine the influence of load and material hardness on the wear of titanium alloy knifes, then compare and analyze it with the actual wear test. The results show that the knifes wear simulation results have an error of less than 15% compared with the laboratory wear results, indicating that the simulation analysis is correct and credible. It can be used to judge the wear resistance of titanium alloy knifes so as to save knifes processing costs, test costs and labor costs,so it can produce certain economic benefits. The research of this paper will provide theoretical support and detailed data support for the selection of titanium alloy knifes materials, promote the development of titanium alloy knifes, and provide help for extending the service life of titanium alloy knifes.
