There are a large number of pathogenic microorganisms in the living environment,among which bacteria and viruses are the most harmful.Pathogenic microorganisms threaten human health in various ways.For example,waterborne diseases due to consumption of pathogen-contaminated water(such as giardiasis,diarrhoea,cholera and gastroenteritis)resulted in?2000 deaths every day.The growth and proliferation of microorganisms on textiles surface not only affects the performance of textiles,but also easily enter the human body through the damaged skin mucous membrane,causing dysentery,pneumonia,skin infections and so on.It is also easy to cause cross infection in hospitals and other public places.Therefore,it is significant to develop new materials with antibacterial properties.In this paper,based on the excellent bactericidal properties of metal nanoparticles,the POU water disinfection materials and hydrophobic antibacterial non-woven materials were prepared with textile as the carrier.POU water disinfection materials are mainly used to solve the drinking water safety problems in some remote areas or emergency situations,and to ensure the people can access clean drinking water.The hydrophobic antibacterial non-woven materials are mainly used to prevent the growth and reproduction of microorganisms on the surface,which can be used in daily protective products to better protect people's health.The details are as follows:(1)Chitosan coated Ag NPs embedded cotton fabric(Ag NPs-C/CS)was prepared by in-situ thermal reduction of Ag NO3followed by coating of porous CS membrane for POU water disinfection.Based on the excellent bactericidal properties of Ag NPs,the Ag NPs-C/CS was successfully applied for the disinfection of E.coli,B.subtilis,and natural water samples.By changing the amount of CS,the flow rate of the material can be adjusted to adapt to different water quality conditions.The introduction of the CS membrane makes the total Ag in the treated water lower than the WHO drinking water limit.In addition,due to the strong mechanical properties of cotton fabric,there is no need to worry about the leakage caused by the damage of materials under wet conditions.(2)A functional non-woven material with antibacterial and hydrophobic properties was prepared by in-situ thermal reduction of Ag NO3and UV irradiation.Before loading Ag NPs,the PDA and PVP were introduced as adhesive and stabilizer,respectively.The introduction of the PDA layer can better combine the Ag NPs with the fiber and prevent Ag NPs falling off from the surface.The results showed that PDA/Ag NPs-N had the best bactericidal performance when the concentration of Ag NO3was 50 m M.After 15 min of UV irradiation,the contact angle increases to 130°,and the material can maintain hydrophobic after being placed for 30 d.This method does not need additional hydrophobic modifiers(such as fluoropolymers,alkyl compounds and silicones),and the preparation conditions are mild.It is a fast,simple and low-cost preparation scheme of hydrophobic antibacterial non-woven materials.(3)By loading Ag NPs and Cu NPs on the non-woven fabric,functional materials with longer hydrophobicity and better antibacterial properties were prepared.The functional material was used to replace the outermost non-woven fabric of the medical mask to prepare the mask with long-term antibacterial performance,which the airflow resistance and filtration efficiency were no different from general surgical mask.The bactericidal layer was placed in the air for 5 d,the surface almost no bacterial growth,and after 5 cycles of washing,the antibacterial rate of the material can still be maintained.The bactericidal mask based on bimetallic NPS can solve the problem of bacteria growth and proliferation on the surface when worn for a long time or improperly used.
