PCDD/Fs,PCBs and PBDEs are representative persistent organic pollutants(POPs).These chemicals are toxic, stable and lipophilic, and bioaccumulation/biomagnification in the food chain. The degree of accumulation in the organism is amplified by the food chain transmission, and ubiquitous in the environment as well as the human body.As humans are at the top of the food chain, dietary exposure can cause persistent organic pollutants to accumulate in human fat.For the general population, dietary intake is the main source of POPs exposure. Therefore, the level of persistent organic pollutants in food and human burden has received extensive concern from the international communities.Breast milk is a well-accepted biological sample for evaluating the human body burden level of persistent organic pollutants. The concentration of persistent organic pollutants in breast milk can directly reflect the concentration in human body. There were two aspects in this study as follows:Concentration of PCDD/Fs,PCBs and PBDEs were measured by gas chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry(GC-HRMS)from nine kinds of food groups, which were collected from 9 provinces and cities in the 6th total diet study in 2016-2017.Then which were calculated with food consumption data for estimates the dietary exposure of POPs in the general population of each province.By comparison with the results of the 5th total diet study, dietary exposure of POPs in the remaining provinces was observed different degrees of decline, except for Liaoning(PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs)and Zhejiang(PBDEs).At present, exposure of POPs in all regions are lower than the warning values stipulated by the cooresponding agencies, indicated that the POPs health risks of general population were still within the safety range. To determine the human burden levels of PCDD/Fs,PCBs and PBDEs,this study analyzed the mixed breast milk samples collected in 7 provinces(25 samples in total)in 2016~2017 Total Diet Study. The concentrations of PCDD/Fs+DL-PCBs,NDL-PCBs and PBDEs in breast milk samples were 7.36 pg TEQ/g lipid,5.77 ng/g lipid and 0.46 ng/g lipid, respectively. In general, the pollution in industrialized southern areas was higher than in underdeveloped northern inland.Compared with the monitoring results in 2011,the pollution levels of POPs in breast milk in different provinces showed a decreasing trend in different degrees. However,in view of the ubiquity of POPs in breast milk samples,it is essential to continuously monitor the POPs in breast milk for assessing the health risks of Chinese.
