Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are typical environmental pollutants that produced by insufficient combustion of fossil fuels, biological organisms, and artificial fuels and can be transported in environmental media. Most PAHs are carcinogenic, teratogenic, and mutagenic,at the same time also has the immune toxicity, neurotoxicity, reproductive toxicity and developmental toxicity and affect human health.Environmental pollutants such as PAHs,heavy metals, and atmospheric particulates can affect the balance of free radical production/removal in the body and produce oxidative stress, thereby triggering or increasing the risk of various diseases. The response of mother to oxidative stress is particularly sensitive,so it is urgent to recognize the correlation between pathological pregnancy and oxidative stress caused by environmental pollution. Our research aims to measure the concentrations and analysis the source of 16 kinds of US EPA priority PAHs,oxidation damage and antioxidant markers MDA,8-OHd G and SOD levels in the maternal peripheral blood, placenta and neonatal umbilical cord blood, samples from the non-special exposed population in Kunming and its surrounding areas,to compare the differences among the different sources of low molecular weight PAHs and high molecular weight PAHs concentrations,MDA,8-OHd G and SOD from the three types of human tissues to analyze distribution and transmission of the placenta in the maternal-fetal system and determine the barrier effect of placenta on different molecular weights PAHs and oxidative stress.Based on maternal and neonatal physiological information, and to discuss:1.The relationship between the pregnancy complications and PAHs and oxidative stress;2.The pathogenesis of pregnancy complications and effect of pregnancy complications on the distribution and transmission of different molecular weights PAHs and Oxidative Stress in mother-fetus system, the results were found that:1.There are pyrolysis sources as well as rock forming sources of PAHs in different tissues of non-exposed mothers in Kunming and its surrounding areas, but they have different proportions;2.The concentration of PAHs may not accurately reflect the harm to the human body and is also related to its main source;3.The placental barrier can not block the potential of low molecular weight PAHs which can transmit between the mother and the fetus;4.Healthy placenta can block, intercept, and store high molecular weight PAHs in the placenta, and the pathological group placenta injury did not reach a certain degree can still act as a barrier;5.Healthy placenta can act as a barrier to some oxidative damage, and pathological pregnancy may cause the placenta to weaken the barrier to oxidative stress,so that it can circulate and transmit between mothers and fetus;6.The aging and decay of placenta may exist in the elderly and high BMI mothers, which makes it impossible to block and store PAHs and oxidative damage from the mother to the fetus;7.In this study, the lipid peroxidation damage was more obvious in different pregnancy diseases, but there was no difference in DNA damage;8.There is some correlation between PAHs and the occurrence of oxidative stress;9.The relationship between low doses of PAHs and oxidative damage in daily life and pregnancy disease and placental barrier should be widely concerned.
