3D printing technology is a more flexible and personalized manufacturing method,which has been widely used in plastics,metals and other materials.However,glass is difficult to be popularize due to its brittleness,high softening point and insufficient transparency.In this work,we first proposed and built a set of fused deposition modeling(FDM)glass 3D printing system that uses contact resistance energized heating as a heat source,and uses glass rods as printing material to study the key process parameters that affect the molding effect.The main contents include:(1)Theoretical research on the contact resistance heating method was carried out.The principle and advantages of contact resistance heating method were listed,the heating resistance model was given.The influence of heating temperature and electrode pressure on the contact resistance value was analyzed.We built a 3D printing system based on the contact resistance heating theory.(2)The single factor variable control method was used to conduct molding process experiments,and effects of key process parameters on molding of glass model were studied.A set of suitable process parameter combination was obtained.The combination was used to carry out printing experiments of plane and three-dimensional models,also reasons of model size deviation and shape deformation were analyzed.The effects of different process parameters on the surface roughness and transmittance of glass models were studied.(3)We analyzed reasons for the lack of transparency and surface quality of glass samples,then optimized and improved the printing device.Finally,we produced almost completely transparent glass samples.(4)After printing cross stiffener and word "China" on glass sheet,the finite element software Workbench was used to simulate and analyze the impact strength of glass sheet.Simulation results showed that the printing system will be feasible for 5G mobile phone back glass sheet in the future to improve the drop resistance and increase the aesthetic.(5)Also on the basis of the theory of contact resistance heating,a set of hot bending device was built,and hot bending of mobile phone cover glass sheet was initially achieved by using the scanning track method.It’s the first step to replace the hot bending machine and mould used in the production of mobile phone cover glass sheet all over the world.The glass 3D printing system had characteristics of small size,high heating efficiency,low cost,and printing stably.It has a certain extent reference for 3D printing of glass or other high melting point and high softening point materials.
