Since the 21st century, economic globalization degree deepening, with the building of the international production networks and the free flow of the factors of production on a global scope, characterized by intra-mediate trade and international division of production segment, the global value chain(GVC)system arises at the historic moment, and countries embedded into the GVC based on their own resources endowment.Compared with passively embedding into GVC based on the existing resources and endowment of enterprises,OFDI is an important measure for Chinese enterprises to actively integrate into economic globalization and "Go Global" to seek markets, technologies and resources in the global market. With the continuous deepening of China’s opening up,China,as the "Factory of the World",has become an indispensable role in the division of labor system of global value chains. In addition, the scale of Chinese enterprises’ OFDI has developed rapidly, and by the end of 2018,both the stock and flow of OFDI of China have ranked among the top three in the world. In the 13th five-year plan,China has clearly put forward the development concept of "Innovation,Coordination,Green Development,Openness and Sharing",and the key to realizing green economic development lies in promoting green total factor productivity(GTFP).Therefore,in order to balance the development of export-oriented economy and green economy,China must pay attention to the impact of GVC participation and OFDI activities on China’s GTFP.Based on this, this paper first analyzes the theoretical impact of GVC participation and OFDI on China’s GTFP,based on the China Customs micro-database from 2000 to 2011,the participation of 30 provinces in the global value chain was calculated and analyzed, then, the non-radial and non-angular SBM directional distance function and Malmquist-Luenberger index method were used to calculate the green total factor productivity of the provinces from 2003 to 2011,it was found that the overall GTFP in China showed an intertemporal decline trend during the sample period, and the decline rate in central provinces was higher than that in eastern and western provinces. Finally, considering the availability and rationality of each index data, this paper finally chooses panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2004 to 2011 as the empirical study sample, and constructs the fixed effect regression analysis model to analyze the impact of GVC participation and OFDI on China’s GTFP.The empirical results show that both GVC participation and OFDI have a significant negative impact on China ’s GTFP by inhibiting China ’s green technology efficiency and green technology progress. In addition, there are big differences in the degree of influence of different economic regions.Global value chain participation in more developed regions has a stronger inhibitory effect on green total factor productivity, while OFDI in developing regions has a stronger inhibitory effect on green total factor productivity.
