Sandware is a kind of pottery,with a long history,and its origin can be traced back to the Neolithic period,such as sand pottery,carbon pottery,and clam pottery.From the material,sandware belongs to sand pottery.Sandware products are practical utensils commonly used in the life of the people,and they have the functions of decocting medicine,boiling tea,and stewing vegetables.my country’s traditional sand ware is fired all over the country,mainly including Sichuan Yingjing sand ware,Guizhou gold woven sand ware,and Yixing purple sand.Shanxi has a long production history of sand ware.The sand wares produced in the local records of Ming and Qing dynasties are located in Yanbei,Jinzhong,Jinnan and other regions.In terms of production technology and product quality,the sand wares in Pingding,Changzhi and Hunyuan are particularly famous.As an intangible cultural heritage,the inheritance and innovative development of sandware ushered in new opportunities.Under the combined effect of new materials,new technologies,new processes,and new design concepts,sand ware has room for further improvement in terms of function,category,quality,and aesthetics,making it possible for daily sand ware to return to life.The research focus of this subject is the innovative design and production of sand tableware.The design is based on the contemporary lifestyle,and strives to make breakthroughs in function and styling design according to the characteristics of materials and expand its use functions.This article first summarizes the domestic and foreign research status,research purpose and value,etc.;secondly,it sorts out the traditional sandware craft culture and food culture,and analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of traditional sandware as tableware.The analysis of the material of the utensils puts forward the feasibility plan of the design of the sandware tableware,and then develops the practice of making the sandware,and finally proposes to "redesign" on the basis of the traditional sandware to reintegrate the traditional handicraft into contemporary life.
