M Company is the leading commodity information and industrial data service provider and a third-party transaction service provider in China.In recent years,M Company has been actively expanding its business,gradually creating a large data-based industrial information and data collection,index compilation,research and consulting services and a series of supply chain services around the third-party steel trading platform.At present,a group industrial chain with ferrous metals as the main body and non-ferrous metals and agricultural products as the wings has been initially formed.However,because its business is still highly concentrated in the steel industry,its performance is vulnerable to cyclical fluctuations in the steel industry.In order to diversify business risks,M company hopes to rapidly expand its business into the energy and chemical information market.Before formulating the development strategy,M company needs to focus on two issues: how much market space can the information industry have? What way does it enter?Firstly,this paper analyzes the macro and economic environment,then combs and discusses the external information industry and the internal environment of M company,analyzes the competitive environment of the information industry with the five-force model,combs the core competence of M company,and uses SWOT analysis method to study the advantages and disadvantages of M company entering the industry.After that,this paper suggests M company adopt M&A strategy as the realization path of developing informational market,and puts forward its own views on M&A target and methods.Finally,this paper proposes measures to strengthen enterprise integration to help M achieve its strategic goals.The research of this topic has a certain reference significance for M company and even domestic commodity information service organizations to build core competitiveness,and has a certain guiding significance for how to improve the overall operation level of China’s information service agencies.
