During the Silk Road and the Sea Road,China exported all kinds of exquisite porcelain to foreign countries and was imitated by the pottery industry all over the world. The discovery of kaolin and the invention of bone china greatly promoted the development of European ceramic industry.Chinese porcelain directly stimulated the rise of European ceramic industry, and the development of European ceramic industry also affected China’s ceramic design. As export porcelain was once popular in Europe in ancient China, while Chinese porcelain reshaped European aesthetics,European countries were also thinking about how to localize the ceramic industry. In the early days,it was not uncommon for major porcelain factories to copy Chinese porcelain.Chinese style once became a popular element in Europe. Then with the development of European ceramic industry,European ceramists gradually developed their own styles from the initial combination of Chinese and western elements to pure western patterns. This topic takes the 17th-19 th century as the historical background and Holland,England and Germany as the targets, analyzes the innovative design of European ceramics under the influence of China, and provides theoretical basis for practical design.Based on the combination of theory and practice, this paper summarizes the inspiration of innovative design under the influence of European ceramic industry and China to ceramic industry.
