Fire,with features of fierce combustion and rapid spread,poses a great threat to the safety of people’s lives and property.Therefore,effective method of fire fighting has always been one of the social concerns.Fire water cannon has ability to spray a large amount of water with a long range,so it’s widely used in outdoor fire-fighting occasions.However,the traditional fire water cannon needs much manual operation,which challenges the physical consumption of personnel.Meanwhile,its range of tens of meters is not enough to ensure the safety of fire-fighting workers in such scenes as oil depot and forest fire.The paper summarizes and analyzes the existing fire water monitor system design and fire detection technology,and introduces a remote control fire-fighting water cannon control system with self swing function in image assistance and trial repetition mode base on techniques such as embedded design and image processing.In the paper,a hardware platform for fire-fighting water cannon control system is designed and built.The hardware platform uses STM32F1 series MCU and Raspberry Pi 3B+ as the core,realizing full system functions such as power supply,inter-module communication,motor drive and image acquisition with printed circuit board.Meanwhile,waterproof measures such as potting with pouring sealant are taken duel to using environment with much water.In the software,the three parts including the main controller,remote control and image processing are introduced,realizing firefighting water cannon control,remote control and image processing control.Finally,the image processing part is introduced.The information in RGB color space is used for image segmentation.Morphological operations and contour filtering are combined to extract multiple features such as color and contour in the suspect area.The recognition results are output by the SVM classifier.The algorithm in this paper optimizes the problems of incomplete and over-segmented flame region extraction,and eliminates many interference scenarios.This paper carried out an engineering implementation and testing of the designed system.The test results show that the system control function works well,the control effect is in line with expectations,and the effectiveness of its image processing part has been verified.Two sub modes of self swing function have stable performance,thus reducing the physical consumption of firemen.Meanwhile,the system extends the operating distance more than 300 m,which improves the operator’s safety.
