| The knowledge of the response of urban residents’ mental wellbeing to ecological spaces is of great significance to the rational planning of ecological spaces and improving the wellbeing of residents.Taking Shanghai as a case,a survey on the mental wellbeing of 1,005 residents in 102 sample residential areas was conducted.Globeland30 data products were combined with the high-resolution remote sensing images of Map World and ecological spaces data in 1.6km buffer zones surrounding the residential area was finally obtained.The response of urban residents’ mental wellbeing to different types of ecological spaces was analysed by creating hierarchical regression and group regression models.The response of residents’ mental wellbeing with different socioeconomic status to ecological spaces was also checked.The results suggest that more green spaces in residential areas means better mental wellbeing of residents.Thereinto,agricultural lands have less impact on mental wellbeing.In contrast,the mental wellbeing benefits of urban grasslands are 5 times that of agricultural lands,while urban forests cannot significantly affect the mental wellbeing of residents.The blue spaces also have no significant impact on the mental wellbeing of residents.There are distinctions in the mental wellbeing of residents with different socioeconomic status.Thereinto,the mental wellbeing of house owners,males,the elderly,people with work pressure,low-income groups,low-educated groups,and people suffering from physical health problems are worse.The residents of different socioeconomic status also respond differently to the mental health benefits of ecological spaces.Renters,the elderly,people with work pressure,low-income groups,and loweducated groups are more difficult to benefit from ecological spaces than others.There are distinctions in the health benefits of different types of ecological spaces and urban grasslands perform the best.The elderly,people with work pressure,low-income groups,and low-educated groups are not only disadvantaged in mental wellbeing,but also less promoted by the mental health benefits of the ecological spaces.They are vulnerable groups that need to be paid attention to. |
