The Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Prints,an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage,exhibits a rich history,an abundance of motifs,and depth in its cultural representation.It is valued for its historical,artistic and functional value.Nevertheless,as times have changed and people’s lives have undergone enormous changes,the traditional art of New Year’s Wood Printing has gradually fallen into decline,making it a worthy research theme to explore how the art form could be preserved and promoted.This paper creatively combines the design of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Prints with contemporary women’s clothing.It discusses the application of elements taken from the Wood Engraving in contemporary women’s clothing.It demonstrates that the integration of traditional Chinese folk art into people’s daily life not only preserves and promotes Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Printing,but also incorporates a unique charm and the cultural depth of traditional Chinese culture into the design of contemporary womenswear – an addition that could satisfy the modern woman’s need for personalised aesthetics and for culture.Hence,the paper is,more generally,an exploration of new ideas for ways of incorporating folk art in contemporary clothing.Since the aim of the paper is to research the application of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Prints in contemporary women’s clothing,after a large amount of data has been reviewed and fieldwork has been conducted in the early stages,It provides a summary of the origin,development,design,production process,value and the challenges facing the continuous development of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Prints.Summarize its cultural meaning,form characteristics and craft characteristics,and then explore the feasibility of using Zhuxian Town New Year’s Prints elements in women’s clothing on this basis,including pattern design,color matching,craft design,and pattern layout in clothing.To conduct research to explore the design method of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodblock Prints applied to contemporary women’s clothing.Finally,the innovation of the series,its adjustment,analysis and reflection,all of which carried out under guidance of research theory.Combining theory and practice,this paper analyses the application of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodcut Prints in contemporary women’s clothing from multiple perspectives,and designs a series of women’s clothing under the guidance of research theory.It hopes to,on the one hand,increase public interest and attention paid to traditional Chinse craftsmanship.On the other hand,it hopes to inspire the incorporation of elements of Zhuxian Town New Year’s Woodcut Prints into contemporary women’s clothing.It seeks to demonstrate that the combination of New Year’s Woodcut Prints and clothing does not simply result in the direct,merely functional use,but it also results in a deeper exploration and the integration of the artistic value of the Woodblock Prints and modern fashion.
