Under the background of the new round of industrial revolution and technological revolution,the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry is the key to China’s transformation from a manufacturing country to a manufacturing powerhouse,and green technological innovation is an significant driving force to realize the green and high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and an important strategy to move towards "Made in China 2025".It has rich theoretical and practical significance to explore the internal influence mechanism of green technological innovation on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.In terms of the theoretical analysis of green technological innovation driving the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry,this paper based on the Neo-Schumpeterian Growth Theory,Neo-classical Growth Theory,Ecological Economic Theory,the mechanism of green technological innovation driving the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry is discussed.The theoretical analysis of this paper believes that green technological innovation in the form of green product innovation and green process innovation has technical,ecological and social effects in the process of driving the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.And green technology innovation promotes the coordinated development of high-efficiency,high-end,intelligent,and green manufacturing to achieve high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.Based on theoretical analysis,on the one hand,this article starts from the four dimensions of high-efficiency,high-end,intelligent and green manufacturing to construct an index system for evaluating the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and the entropy method is used to measure the high-quality development level of China’s inter-provincial manufacturing industry.On the other hand,through the establishment of a corresponding panel data econometric model,the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2009 to 2018 are used to analyze the impact of green technology innovation on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.The results of the study found: Firstly,the results of measuring the high-quality development level of China’s manufacturing industry show that the problems of "imbalance and insufficiency" exposed in various dimensions,regions,and provinces in the high-quality development process of China’s manufacturing industry are prominent,and the characteristics of spatial agglomeration presented in the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry are obvious.Secondly,on the one hand,the regression results of the overall sample show that both green product innovation and green process innovation have a significant positive impact on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and the impact of green product innovation is higher than that of green process innovation.On the other hand,in terms of regional samples,green product innovation and green process innovation have improved the high-quality development level of China’s manufacturing industry,and showing that the western region is greater than the central region and the eastern region.Thirdly,in terms of control variables,environmental regulations,government R&D support,human capital,Internet development level,and urbanization level are all favorable factors for enhancing the high-quality development level of China’s manufacturing industry.Fourthly,the results of spatial econometric analysis show that under the spatial effect of China’s inter-provincial adjacent regions,both green product innovation and green process innovation have significant spatial relevance to the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.From the perspective of the decomposition results of spatial effects,for green product innovation and green process innovation,the two have significant spatial spillover effects on the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry,and the direct effect of spatial spillover is greater than the indirect effect.Finally,based on the results of theoretical and empirical analysis,the research conclusion part gives policy recommendations and research prospects for green technology innovation to drive the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.
